At Scalable Capital, you have the option of setting up a post-mortem power of attorney. A post-mortem power of attorney allows a designated person to dispose of the account and custody account balance of the account holder if the account holder dies.

The main purpose of the post-mortem power of attorney is to simplify the necessary steps and formalities in the event of death.

What should you bear in mind?

  • Only grant a power of attorney to someone you trust
  • Minors cannot be authorised
  • Persons who are US citizens and/or have a residence or tax domicile in the USA cannot be granted power of attorney
  • The power of attorney must be signed by hand by both the proxy holder and the proxy grantor
  • Make sure that the information on the form is correct and complete
  • The form cannot be editable for data protection reasons
