BlackRock is a leading company in the Private Equity sector. Every year, the team analyzes between 800 and 1,000 investment opportunities and selects the most promising companies. The investments are allocated to several suitable investment vehicles within BlackRock.
The ELTIF structure, as one of the investment vehicles, enables investors to invest side by side in the same Private Equity companies as other professional clients of BlackRock (e.g. insurance companies, pension funds or family offices). This structure is designed to ensure the first-class quality of the deals and enables private individuals to invest in Private Equity with institutional quality. Further information on the target companies being invested by the fund can be found in the Deal Corner.
The BlackRock Private Equity Fund, offered by Scalable Capital, invests preferably in Co-investments together with renowned Private Equity companies and thus alongside the largest investors worldwide. The large global network enables BlackRock to win the best deals for the fund.
Direct access via Co-investments also allows fees to be kept low. This is different with fund-of-funds, where a fund itself invests in several private equity funds (and not directly in the portfolio companies). The Co-investment structure can therefore avoid double-layered fees (for fund-of-funds and target funds).
